Pickup from the hotel or riad. We’ll head towards the High Atlas, which has the highest altitudes in North Africa. You can enjoy the snow at higher elevations during the winter and well into spring. We will then travel to Ouarzazate, a village located near the High Atlas Mountains and the Draa River valley. The movie capital is home to Morocco’s most important film studio.
We’ll continue down Thousand Kasbah Road and enter the Dades Valley. The drive along the river road leads into the narrow valley. Furthermore, we will stop enjoying it. Here you will eat dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast, we will travel to Todra Gorges via Tinerhir, a vast palm grove known for agriculture, date palms, and crafts.
Later, we’ll arrive at the Gorge. Here we can see the spectacular landscape that has been shaped over thousands of years by the river that runs through it. Then we’ll drive to Merzouga, where you’ll leave your luggage at the auberge and travel to the desert by camel. Furthermore, once in Haima, you will eat dinner, hear drums echoing in the desert night, and lie down in your tent.
The next morning, you will wake up early to watch the sunrise. At midday, we will visit a nomad family. Next, you will eat under the shade of a tree, you will see how the Berber pizza is made, and then you will taste it. After lunch, you will rest for a while, and later we will make a route through the desert.
To start with, we will leave to see an oasis in the desert in 4×4, also will visit the town of Khamlia (village of the blacks) MIFISS mines, and desert places, and we will meet the Berber nomads of the desert … Then shall return to the Haima, you will have dinner, we’ll play music and will spend the night in the tent.
If you wish, you can get up early to watch the sunrise and return to the hotel on camels, where we will shower before continuing to Rissani, stopping to visit the market. As a result, a very important market serves all of the surrounding villages, offering a variety of shops and stalls.
We’ll continue to Ouarzazate, passing through the magnificent and spectacular Draa Valley, which is lined with massive palm trees. During the afternoon, we will travel to Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and The Mummy.
At the end of the day, we’ll arrive in Marrakech. Finally, this marks the end of the route. Finally, the 5 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert comes to an end.
Five days gave us enough time to truly enjoy the Sahara. The camel trek, desert camp, and extra activities were amazing.
