Before arriving in Fes, you will visit the Meknes and Volubilis sites. Volubilis is a UNESCO site in Morocco. It is famous for the Roman ruins left over from the Roman Empire. We next visit Meknes city near Volubilis. The city is the site of the first Arab dynasty created by Moulay Ismail. There, you visit Medersa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour, which is the gateway to the Moulay Ismail Palace. It also leads us into the Sehrij es-Souani, the horse stables, and granaries. In addition to that, the upstairs of Meknes is a rooftop of gardens and cafes with a great view of the city. Finally, we arrive at Fes and check into the hotel.
After breakfast, you will begin your visit to the oldest Medina in the world. You join our local official guide to explore Fes. Thus, you visit Medina with its souks (markets) and stop at the gateway of the Royal Palace. Then, you visit the 9th-century Karouine mosque and the university. You will also visit the tomb of Moulay Idriss II and the Tanneries. Lunch will be served at one of the traditional restaurants in the old Medina. After lunch, you will visit the Najarine Fountain, the old Harem Garden, and the Batha Museum. On your way to the hotel, you will stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
On this day, we resume 8 days tour from Casablanca. Hence, we will drive through the mountains and Berber villages. We explored the region of Imouzzer. Next, we continue through the adobe-colored cities of Er-Rachidia and Erfoud. In the late afternoon, we arrive in the Merzouga desert. It is a small town on the outskirts of the Sahara Desert. Finally, we spent a night in a hotel there.
After breakfast, we will go on a tour around Erg Chebbi. That is to say, we will visit Khmlia village to listen to some Gnaoua music. This music is originally from Ghana and Sudan. After watching the sunrise, we returned by camel to Merzouga. We will depart after breakfast and a shower at the hotel. Hence, we will depart towards Dades Valley. Firstly, we visited Rissani and Erfoud. The Erfoud town is famous for its dates and fossils. Rissani also offers an old souk to visit. We then We will then travel to Tinjdad and Todra Gorges. Finally, we drove to Dades Valley via colored rock everywhere. Overnight is in Dades Valley.
Leaving Dades Valley is after breakfast. Thus, we drove toward Ouarzazate through Rose Valley and Skoura. Ouarzazate is known as Morocco’s Hollywood and the gateway to the Sahara. In this city, we will visit the film Studios and move to Ait Ben Haddou. There, we visit the UNESCO-protected Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. It is one of the most impressive and well-preserved fortresses in Morocco. Many movies were filmed here, such as Gladiator. After visiting this site, we will leave Ait Benhaddou and start heading towards the majestic Atlas Mountains. We will cross the High Atlas mountains via the highest road of Tizi n’Tichka at 2260m high. There will be a stop to enjoy breathtaking views of valleys, mountains, and nearby Berber villages. Finally, we’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
In Marrakech, we plan a guided tour with a local guide. That is to say, you will explore the tourist attractions of this city. Therefore, you visit a wonderful site called Menara Garden. It is a pool surrounded by flowerbeds that function as an irrigation system for the surrounding fields. Besides, your tour will cover other impressive sights.
